Newly crowned champions Valletta FC have published their celebrations’ programme which will kick off next Saturday.

In the morning, players, coach, staff and members from the club’s administration will be paying a visit to the Children’s Ward at Mater Dei Hospital where club souvenirs will be presented. At 1.30pm there will be a carcade from near the Baviera, to Ta’ Qali Stadium where at 4pm, the start will be given to a variety programme which will include singers from Valletta. The match against Marsaxlokk is scheduled to kick-off at 6pm, following which there will be the presentation of the Championship Cup (Bank of Valletta trophy) to skipper Gilbert Agius. A defile in Valletta will follow.

On Sunday 18 May, at 6pm, there will be a Thanksgiving Mass at St Augustine’s Church which will be followed by a reception at the Valletta FC premises for all societies in the capital city.

On Monday 19 May, a ‘funeral’ is being organised, starting at 6pm from near the St Paul’s club and coming to an end near the Law Courts with the burial ceremony.

On Friday 23 May, at 6.30pm, at the Salinos Ground, there will be a friendly match between Masters (ex-players) of the club. Those who wish to take part are to contact either Eddie Vella or Joe Micallef, both former club players.

On Saturday 31 May, there is a big reception for the supporters. The venue and the time will be announced later.

There will also be other activities near St Paul’s Club (2 June), at the St Dominic’s Hall (4 June) and at Mattia Preti Square (5 June), apart from the FA trophy semi-final and Trophy (20 May and 24 May respectively).
