The Bank of Valletta Winter League enters its most interesting phase with the semi-finals being played today at the Tal-Qroqq Pool.

In the opening match, Sliema face Sirens, while in the other, Neptunes face their Balluta Bay rivals San Giljan.

Considering the form in the qualifying rounds, it is obvious that Sliema and Neptunes should be considered as the great favourites to reach the final, scheduled for next Saturday.

Sliema finished the qualifying round with maximum points – four wins from four matches, followed by Neptunes on six points, San Giljan four and Sirens two.

Today’s matches will be played to a finish, meaning that extra time will be played in case of a draw, until a winner is determined.
