In form Vittoriosa Stars reached the KO final to be played next Sunday, when they beat newly crowned champions and holders Tarxien 3-1, in an interesting match.

Vittoriosa built a two-goal in the first 20 minutes and held to their lead pushing back Tarxien's pressure.

Vittoriosa had a flying start and went ahead after only two minutes when Anthony Eviparker headed home a Larry Lagana cross. Tarxien tried to hit back with an Angus Buhagiar shot that slightly missed the target.

Vittoriosa were menacing in their counter breaks and on 21 minutes they doubled the score when Anthony Eviparker showed all his class when he anticipated goalkeeper Curmi to score with a low shot.

Tarxien did not throw in the towel as they pressed forward to get in the match, and on 37 minutes they managed to reduce the arrears with a well taken goal. Malcolm Buttigieg crossed towards the unmarked Omar Grech who rose above the rest to head beautifully home.

In the second half Tarxien went out in search of the equalizer, with Vittoriosa retreating in their own half. They missed a couple of chances through Angus Buhagiar.

Ten minutes from time Vittoriosa sealed their victory with the third goal. A Larry Lagana went in Keth Darmanin's path, who dribbled past a defender before firing in the top corner of the net for a great goal. Vittoriosa went even close to a fourth when Grech missed a sitter in front of goal.

Mosta 1

Surprise team of the season Dingli, confirmed their great season beating last year's finalists Mosta to reach the final.

It wasa deserved win for the swift Dingli side against a depleted Mosta side still smarting from the disappointment of the decider loss against Qormi.

Mosta had seven regular players missing, with Steve Borg, Antonio Saliba and Elton Vella suspended, and Mario Abela and Adrian Borg still nursing an injury. Goalkeeper Claude Carbonaro played instead of regular goalkeeper Debono, whilst Carlos Camenzuli was only used as substitute

Dingli were in front after 23 minutes, when Chris Ciappara connected to a precise Etienne Farrugia cross from the right.

The second half was played at a very slow pace with Mosta on the offensive in search of the equalizer.

On 65 minutes Dingli scored their second goal with a breath taking goal on a swift counter attack with Anywanna passing to Jeremy Agius who beat Carbonaro with a precise grounder..

Fifteen minutes from time Mosta scored a consolation goal when Massimo Grima blasted home from the heart of the penalty area. but that failed to save them the match.
