Veteran Guzi Grech won the sixth consecutive Malta championship, organised by the Billiards and Snooker Association when he beat Paul Galea of Peace Band Club 914-425 in the final at the Anglo Maltese League Club in Valletta.

Grech compiled good breaks of 99, 94, 82. In the semi-final he had a top break of 145. The record of 567 is still in his hands.

The match was controlled by Frans Bugeja, who is also the president of the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association.
