An International Nihon Tai Jitsu Seminar is being held in Malta between tomorrow and Saturday. It is being held at the San Antonio Hotel & Spa in Qawra.

Nihon (Japanese) Tai (body) Jitsu (Art) is a Japanese, traditional martial art. It has developed over the last 20 years to a modern self-defence style but kept all along its traditional roots.

It consists of basic karate elements (strikes, kicks, blocks, kata movements ) as well as judo elements throws, locks, immobilizations).

It is the first time that the Malta Nihon Tai Jitsu Club, led by Sensei Martin Camilleri, is organising an international event and it invited several high ranked Masters.

Among them one can find the founder of this art in Europe, Sensei Roland Herneaz (74 years old), 10th Dan. He has been practising martial arts (judo, karate, shironji-kempo) for over 50 years and made Nihon Tai Jitsu a popular self-defence style all over Europe. He will be instructing the seminar with Sensei Raymond Jugeau (9th Dan) and Sensei Gusztav Vikartoczky (5th Dan) who came to Malta several times to develop local athletes.

Countries like France, Spain, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria have already confirmed their arrivals and the organisers are hoping that healthy number of local athletes will attend in this unique martial arts event.
