The first race in this year's edition of the Birkirkara St. Joseph Open Water Swimming Series will be held tomorrow at Qawra starting at 9am.
This two kilometre race is the first in a series of six races, five of them two kilometres long and one double the distance in preparation for the Club's annual Gozo-Malta swim. Birkirkara St. Joseph is the only Club to organise open water swimming in Malta under the auspices of the Aquatic Sports Association.
The other five races will be held on the 25 June, 9 July, 23 July, 6 August and 3 September.
Prize money will be awarded to the first three males and females in the respective overall classifications.
Birkirkara swimmers Keith Galea and Isabelle Zarb headed their respective classifications in the 2007 Series.
