Champions Valletta FC will have a new general secretary after the forthcoming committee elections.
This is because Anton Abela has decided not to contest for the post after 10 years of service to the club, the last four of which as secretary.
In a statement on the club’s official website in the past few days , Abela said he took the decision for personal reasons.
Meanwhile a successor has to be found from among the members, but the first name which has been mentioned is that of veteran Benny Pace, a former general secretary of the club who has been out of the committee for the past four years or so.
