A 30-year-old man pleaded not guilty yesterday to misappropriation of funds and relapsing.

Etienne Zammit, from Qormi, was charged with misappropriating more than e2,329.37 in funds to the detriment of R&G DVD Enterprises of Qormi on and before December 2007.

The court, presided over by magistrate Anthony Vella, heard how Zammit used to work for the company and received money from clients which he allegedly did not pass over to the company. The company owners claim he owns them e11,646.87.

Zammit was granted bail against a personal guarantee of e5,000.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted while Dr Mark Busuttil appeared for the accused.
