Labour Administrations

Malta Independent Tuesday, 17 June 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

Watching Xarabank recently I was impressed by that likeable gentleman (Mr Vella?) who declared that he had voted Labour, he had voted Nationalist and he had voted Alternattiva! Pity he had no chance to vote AN.

And finally he declared that he wishes he will be able to vote Labour. Why? Since he switched over from Labour to Nationalist it means that he was not satisfied with Labour. No wonder, given Labour’s evil past. So he voted PN, but, it seems, that even here he was disappointed and so switched over to Alternattiva.

I believe that if this gentleman was disappointed with the Nationalist government, his only alternative is to form a political party himself.

I am not saying that past Nationalist governments were perfect. Far from it. No one criticises them as much as I do, but certainly there is no comparison between a Nationalist and a Labour government. Simply no comparison. This gentleman is old enough to remember the hard times through which we had to go during the 16 years of Labour administrations.
