Hibernians Quash rumours about Mark Miller takeover

Malta Independent Tuesday, 17 June 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Hibernians yesterday quashed persistent rumours that they were about to change their coach Robert Gatt.

The name of Malta Under 21 coach Mark Miller had been linked with the Paolites during the last few days, but a top club official yesterday told The Malta Independent that there was absolutely no intention of changing the coach right now.

He said: “The team at the moment is being coached by Gatt’s assistant Edmond Lufi as the coach is away from the island and will only be back this week to continue preparations for the forthcoming Intertoto Cup matches against Slovenia’s Gorica. Gatt’s contract still has a year to expire and we are also aware that Miller also has a contract with the MFA as its Under 21 national coach.”

Hibernians, who have lost central midfielder Edmond Agius to Valletta, are not expected to be very active on the summer transfer market.
