Reference is made to the letter Toothless ministry (TMID, 16 June) referring to Church Street in Paceville and the car park in front of Tigulio in St Julian’s.
With regard to the Church Street issue, please be informed that the board of directors of Roads Division is going to review the matter during its next board meeting. The review will take place on the basis of a traffic impact assessment being prepared. Details of the board decision in this regard will be communicated publicly once a final decision is taken.
With regard to the issue relating to the temporary use of the car park in front of Tigulio, the St Julian’s local council on 19 February informed the Malta Transport Authority that, together with the Tourism Ministry, it was going to organise a number of events during the months of May, June and August. Where there is no major impact on safety, accessibility or traffic flows, the relative local council, a body that in itself represents the interests of the local community where the event is being held, can organise such events.
