Reference is made to the article by Bernard Busuttil entitled Fundraising activities by the dozen, but no sight of money (TMID, 18 June).

The Naxxar local council would like to clarify that, contrary to what is stated in the article, a board/commission has in fact been appointed.

This is made up of the mayor Dr Maria Deguara, Mr Justice Victor Caruana Colombo, Mr Lino Casapinta and the undersigned as secretary to the commission.

This commission met for the first time on 12 June where various issues concerning the applications for claims for financial assistance were

discussed. As a result applications will hopefully be issued soon for those wishing to apply.
