Football: Maltese Girls in Estonia mini-Euro tournament

The Malta national women’s team will be engaged in the Euro Mini-tournament to be held in Estonia between next Friday and Wednesday 2 July. Besides Malta, the other teams taking part are Estonia, Croatia and Turkey.

Malta’s first match will be on Friday at 2pm against Croatia in Paide. They are then due to meet host nation Estonia on Sunday at 5pm. The third and final match will be on Wednesday 2 July against Turkey.

National team coach Pierre Brincat, and his assistant Mark Gatt, have called the following 18 players to form part of the travelling squad:

Goalkeepers: Sharon Costantino (Melita), Michelle Zahra (Birkirkara)

Defenders: Rebecca D’Agostino (Hibernians), Mandy Debono (Hibernians), Marisa Deguara (Mosta), Lesley Ann Galea (Hibernians), Natasha Pace (Hibernians)

Midfielders: Maria Azzopardi (Hibernians), Catherine Camilleri (Birkirkara), Rachel Cuschieri (Birkirkara), Stefania Farrugia (Birkirkara), Roxanne Gatt (Hibernians), Karen Lia (Birkirkara), Kathleen Saliba (Hibernians), Dorianne Theuma (Hibernians), Dionne Tonna (Hibernians).

Forwards: Ylenia Carabott (Hibernians), Rebecca Chircop (Hibernians)

The Head of Delegation of the team will be Mr. Ludovico Micallef, Vice-President of the Malta Football Association and also Chairman of the Women's Football Committee. The other staff accompanying the team will be Tanya Gravina, Secretary, Dr. Shirley Mulvaney, Team Doctor and Elaine Vella, physiotherapist.
