I refer to the item appearing in “Odds & Ends” (TMID, 9 June). The works in Vjal il- Haddiem, Rabat had to be delayed because tests carried out on the backfill used by the contractor resulted in non-conformity to specifications.

Since then, the works have progressed and are now nearing completion including re-instatement. All works will be completed in a couple of weeks.
