The Maltese women’s national team registered its first ever win in international competition on Sunday when they beat Estonia 1-0.
The Maltese girls are taking part in a UEFA mini tournament in Estonia. In the first match last week, they lost 3-0 to Croatia.
In a match in which the Maltese held the upper hand, it was Ylenia Carabott who scored the decisive goal on 78 minutes receiving a freekick from Dorianne Theuma to anticipated the Estonian defence and beat the Estonian goalie.
Dorianne Theuma and Catherine Camilleri were the best Maltese players.
