I read with great interest Daphne Caruana Galizia’s contribution “This week’s notebook” about the service at the Emergency Department in the Mater Dei Hospital (TMIS, 29 June).

Even when I hold a strongly divergent opinion from hers, as a rule I usually thoroughly enjoy her style.

Your readers will therefore understand how delighted I was by this contribution of hers, when I agreed with it in its totality. I hasten to add that I have been in non-financially remunerative practice for over 12 years now.
