Hurrah for lady bus drivers! Can we have more of them? The three currently working on the scheduled bus service are really great. They’re so well-mannered and gracious. Really, it’s a joy to have them drive me. They are on time at the terminus to be able to sell tickets and we actually leave at the time stipulated.
Last Monday’s express bus to Zurrieq left at 6.30pm on the dot. When I tried to open a window, the lady graciously told me not to as she would be actually switching on the air-conditioner. Wonder of wonders! I had my first air-conditioned bus ride in Malta.
A lovely experience! May we have more of them?
Thank you ladies.

ZURRIEQ
PS: This positive experience was marred when, on arrival at Zurrieq, the bus couldn’t proceed from Blue Grotto Avenue to Mattia Preti Square (the bus station at Zurrieq) because men decorating the other side of the street in readiness for the approaching feast blocked the street unnecessarily and we had to walk to our destination.
