In the past months the Nationalist media has reserved all its mudslinging campaign for the Labour Party’s secretary general, Jason Micallef. Which prompts the question – what’s on their mind again? Have they converted and are trying to wish us well? After the character assassination against Alfred Sant over the years while he was leader, now they have turned their guns against Jason to make him lose the place he handled in the best way possible over these last years.

Yes, Jason made a couple of mistakes after the election, and one of them is Xarabank, but he was man enough to publicly apologise for his mistakes. Is this gesture a common practice in politics? During these past years, especially during the electoral campaign, everyone could see the great deal of work he put in for our party. Jason does not only have the good asset of listening but he delivers and that makes him the right candidate for the role of secretary general.

Some are saying that Jason likes to be seen on TV. So, what’s wrong with that? I would have been more preoccupied if he did not, as we are in the 20th century where technology is at its best and the best way to project the party’s message is to go on TV and give out the party’s views.
