From Mr J. Vella
Correct me if I am wrong, but does the Sliema shoreline not face north, while our illegal visitors come from the south (Libya)?
To me it seems that these “alien” visitors know how to reach Malta and it is no coincidence that they finish up on our shores.
I have written personally to the Prime Minister about some personal experience I had with these visitors (better still, “permanent residents”), as I happened to have contact with a lot of them due to my work in Libya. Anyway, I was informed by the Prime Minister’s secretary that he would look into my correspondence.
My main point is that not only our politicians but also the Maltese population have to wake up to what is happening.
These illegal immigrants work and get paid very competitively by their own standards; they pay no tax or NI contributions, have free health care, free accommodation including electricity and water and probably a square meal thrown in. Do we Maltese get anything free (maybe health care if one is patient enough to wait)?
Where are the police and the ETC inspectors? One can simply walk into any construction site, kitchen restaurant or hotel and find hordes of these “alien visitors” working there. Again I ask, how do the people paying the wages for these people account for them? Surely they do not pay them from their own pocket, but probably deduct the expense of these wages from their income. Hello! Where are the VAT and IRD departments?
Hey, people of Malta, your small precious island – including jobs, benefits and crime rate – are being affected by this invasion. Wake up and take the bull by the horn. Get your local politicians to do something – pester them every day, if needs be.
