Help Needed

Malta Independent Thursday, 17 July 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

“All I would like, is for you to go and speak about what you saw, what has been done so far and what still needs to be done.” We heard these words from Fr Michael Agius when my parents and I went to see the progress at the sanctuary of Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Targa, l/o Naxxar. We, in Malta, should be very proud of the fact that in a few months’ time we shall see the completion of the third sanctuary worldwide dedicated to the Divine Mercy.

It is only a few months since Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona entrusted the completion of the sanctuary to Fr Michael and in this short time, great progress has been made. In fact, if all goes to plan, the sanctuary should be ready by the end of the year. However, to do this, Fr Michael needs help.

Let us all be proud of our sanctuary and ensure its completion! Let us be proud of the fact that it is only one of three worldwide and help Fr Michael! He is in dire need of funds and I am sure that there are many people devoted to the Divine Mercy who are willing to help! Let us help Fr Michael fulfill the task that he has been entrusted with.

Donations can be addressed to Santwarju Gesu Hniena Divina, Triq Santa Marija, San Pawl tat-Targa NXR 1400.

All donations will be acknowledged. I am sure we will not disappoint him and help him to make the inauguration Mass in the sanctuary of Divine Mercy an unforgettable experience that we can look forward to in the very near future.

As we drove away, we saw a solitary figure re-enter the sanctuary. Fr Michael had gone back to single handedly shift granite slabs in readiness for the workmen to lay the next day.
