I had never noticed it before: the Account Record Bank given to customers by the BOV informs the holders that “(the book) is not a statement and it is kept by the customer for record purposes only.”
When I discussed the matter with one of the cashiers she asked me: “But suppose that when you go home you decide to ‘deposit’ a thousand euros in your account?”
“And suppose,” I asked her, “that you decide to ‘withdraw’ a thousand euros from my account?”
“OH nooo,” she smiled at me.
It seems as if the customer is always... wrong!
