I refer to Odd and ends (TMID, 14 July). Contrary to what was stated, the Sliema local council is against all types of crates which are being left out on the road and it is not the first time that the council has reported such inconveniences to the police. As regards to the police barriers (in Old College Street), please note that the council never utilised such barriers and has even asked the police to have them removed.

It is also good to know that the council will finally take up the issue of the police barriers in Old College Street. They have been there for weeks on end.
