If public transport in Gozo were to go on strike, we would not even notice because everybody has to use his own car.

It is almost impossible using public transport to go to work and return home at the end of the day. To go to Mgarr to catch the ferry and get back, you can only get the service if you live in Victoria. Parents have to drive their children to private lessons.

The Gozo Public Transport knows this too, because when it did strike, it did so on school days when it transports students from the villages to the secondary schools. To go out in the evenings you have to have your own means of transport. Only the city dwellers have some sort of public transport to Marsalforn.

We deserve more. It makes sense economically, health wise, environmentally, congestion wise and parking space wise. The Prime Minister talks about a leap in quality in Malta’s public transport. What about Gozo, the ecological island?
