Word has reached my ear that the Naxxar Parish church will go ahead with the external feast.

If this is true, it would be an utter lack of respect towards the victims of the Naxxar tragedy – not only of the innocent young mother who lost her life and her family, but also those who have lost everything they owned, and others who have suffered so much from this tragedy.

Some localities have donated money earmarked for their feast’s fireworks to help the victims of this tragedy – I truly hope that not one single firework is let off during the feast in Naxxar, which should only be celebrated “internally”.

Otherwise, it will mean that not even the Church respects the victims of this terrible tragedy.
