I refer to the letter from Fr Sandro Camilleri regarding the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje (TMIS, 27 July).

Yes, the Devil can pretend to work against his own self to use your own words; and how he can! I was completely taken by surprise that Fr Camilleri did not refer to this potential deception!

Satan is a liar. He is the master of deception. He can take darkness and make it look like light. In Corinthians 11:14-15 it is written, “For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

Satan can very easily appear to be the Mary, the mother of our Saviour Jesus Christ in order to turn our eyes away from our Creator and Saviour Jesus Christ. For it is definitely Jesus Christ who is the only mediator between man and God, always according to Scripture.
