So now we are soon to be issued with new biometric E-ID Cards which will have all sorts of personal details in the chip in the card which can only be read by someone with a reader (government department, police etc etc).

Details will include the holder’s bank account details and lots of hidden info which the cardholder will not be able to access or even know about.

I’m very surprised no one in Malta is objecting to this.

In UK and Australia the ID card scheme was abandoned as a result of protests.
