Bay Street’s management and its operators have recently come together to launch a campaign with the aim of collecting funds for the children of Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei. This campaign, the brainchild of Bay Street’s CEO, James Davis and the Chairman of the operators’ marketing committee, Grace Borg, was launched during a reception for all operators and guests held at Bay Street tourist complex’s terrace on Tuesday, 22 July.

All funds collected during certain events will be passed over to the staff of Rainbow Ward to be used for various necessities that would assist the children and their families. Funds will also go towards fulfilling wishes from the children themselves as listed in their personal Wish-List.

Bay Street recently inaugurated the launch by presenting Rita Allen, the nurse in charge of Rainbow Ward with a canvas painting done by Voyan depicting cartoon characters to be hung at the ward.

Bay Street shall in the coming weeks deliver more such paintings in order to decorate the entire ward with pictures that are more appealing to children.

Towards the end of September, Bay Street shall be organising a gala dinner during which various donated items shall be auctioned to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Among the items being auctioned is a framed unique long play record of the musical Vagabond King which saw Malta’s own Oreste Kirkop in the leading role. Members of the public wishing to donate items which can then be auctioned during this event can contact Bay Street’s management team.

All collected funds will be deposited into the Puttinu Cares for Children’s Fund.
