Wanted: Anything That has to do with Razzett tal-Qasam

Malta Independent Sunday, 10 August 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

From Ms A. Muscat

Koperattiva Rurali Manikata was set up in August 2007. Its aim is to help bolster agriculture in this region. Recently, the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment entered into a management agreement with the co-operative through which it will be able to restore a historical farmstead known as ir-Razzett tal-Qasam. Although the farmhouse is now derelict due to vandalism and the ravages of time, it has a lot of significance for the local community of Manikata and the cooperative.

KRM is asking people who have got any photos of the farmstead or who any information about it, especially about two coats of arms dating back to the Knights of Malta that had been stolen from the site. The photos are important so that the farmstead can be restored to its original form; with the coats of arms we would more or less know when the farmhouse was built.

If you have any information please contact us on [email protected]. You can also visit our website on www.manikatafarmers.com.

Any information given will be much appreciated.
