Labour MP Roderick Galdes’ opinion on wind power (TMID, 12 July) makes interesting reading.
I am very much interested in such technology and I genuinely believe that it is high time that Malta should embark on a process which would ultimately mean the setting up of wind masts in our country.
Mr Galdes mentions certain knowledge which is available to him on this subject matter. I, for one, would be very much interested in looking at these studies and I am sure that they can prove to be a very positive addition to the ongoing debate.
Maybe the most interesting statement in Mr Galdes’ contribution is that Malta’s options in wind farm technology are limited to land-based installations and near-shore locations. Incidentally, this seems to be the prevalent opinion nowadays.
However I would like to know if Mr Galdes can indicate which are his preferred sites to possibly host such wind masts.
