If it were happening once a year, like for example the village festa, I would tolerate it. But, every Saturday night up to 3.30am and sometimes even later, I am unable to get any sleep because of the relentless, unbelievable noise of beating drums that plague our area. It is nerve-wracking for people who are old, sick or light sleepers, or who have young children.

What happened to the silent hours? Is it now permissible for a disco outlet to terrorize the whole area without being held accountable, just for the sake of profit?

These people make their profit by charging an entrance fee and selling alcohol, and, to stimulate those attending the loudspeakers blare out full blast. If making a profit means having to annoy people living in the surrounding area, it is a pity that there is no law to protect us, and if there is, where are those responsible to see that the noise is kept to a reasonable level.

I feel my health is being affected as I cannot sleep and also suffer from other symptoms after experiencing sleepless nights. Who do I to turn to for the damage it is causing me?

If these outlets want to make a quick buck so be it, but not to the detriment of the rest of the community. I thought we joined the European Union so that things would improve for the common people. I wonder how much better it has become for the common people. Where are those responsible to put a stop to this nuisance?
