The Sun, Boobs and the ECHR

Malta Independent Sunday, 17 August 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

In its tirade against the judges of the European Court of Human Rights who issued an interim order in connection with the case of Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri, the British tabloid The Sun saw fit to describe all nine judges as “euro clowns”, including Judge Giovanni Bonello, whom they further attempted to denigrate because he comes from Malta, an “obscure country”.

The Sun seems to think that large, well-known countries are the sole depositaries of legal wisdom, and they boobed there of course, because in a case like this it is not the singer that should be considered, but the song. They even got his name wrong, calling him “Bonnell”, another boob. But then, of course,

The Sun is renowned for its boobs!
