Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club will be organising their annual Gozo – Malta Open Water Swim tomorrow at 8am.

Twelve participants from the Park of Friendship are going to take part in this sports event. All the participants will leave from Ras il-Qala, next to il-Gebla tal-Halfa, to Marfa on a distance of 5.5 kilometres.

All the participating swimmers will be accompanied by a boat throughout the whole event.

The race route will be closed for maritime traffic for the duration of the race.

Birkirkara St Joseph has teamed up with the Park of Friendship to raise funds through this unique event. In fact, a number of swimmers will be taking the plunge just for this noble cause.

Each participant was given a sponsor sheet to gather money from family and friends to support the park.
