Being a local warden can be very unpleasant; the reason is that everyday the warden has to face angry drivers who have been recently, or are going to be, fined. However, the warden is not the culprit and should be the last person who has to deal with them.

Unfortunately, the Local Enforcement System (LES) is not designed to protect law-abiding citizens. Instead it is a moneymaking machine for those people who operate behind the wings. I am not mentioning who these people are because of circumstances.

Apart from these people, there are the companies’ owners whose sole interest is the money they will have in their pockets at the end of each month. I would also like to stress that the so-called quota exists and that in certain districts it’s not less than 900 tickets every 30 days.

This quota is so exaggerated that the local warden is hated by the citizens and is constrained to give fines even though many times this is unnecessary. There are also fines that are issued in secret for the simple reason that the warden is afraid of aggression. There are several other things that I would like to report but the time is not ripe.

The entire LES needs to be reviewed. It should assure a cleaner and more pleasant environment, and not a race to issue fines on the part of the wardens, that fines are not issued to profit certain individuals but will truly be imposed for the education of those who break the law and to safeguard the honest ones.
