Do you remember the 1970s and 1980s? Do you recall the Mintoff regime taking anti-democratic action? I do.

I also remember that the present regime used to cry foul and take to the streets to protest such disgusting and uncivilised behaviour by the government, which was there to administer for and on behalf of ALL society and the populace. I can still hear the deafening sound of the PN leaders, on the loud speakers, screaming “traitors, dictators, you should be ashamed”. And now?

Do you remember the Malta Union of Teachers yelling “we shall strike; the Labour government is taking away our rights, shame on you”? I do. And now?

Now, that Malta is so democratic (sic), teachers are threatened that they will lose their job if they participate in active politics. Nah, it’s not Mintoff or Mifsud Bonnici bullying this time. It’s Lawrence Gonzi. And now?

Now I admire Victor Galea who stood up to be counted and challenged the present Prime Minister. Well done, Victor. We stand by you.
