Ferrari's Felipe Massa took pole position for today's European Grand Prix after edging McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton in qualifying.
Massa timed a fastest lap of 1 minute, 38.989 on the 5.4 kilometer (3.4 mile) street circuit around the eastern city's port yesterday, with Hamilton in second after clocking 1:39.199.
BMW's Robert Kubica was third on 1:39.392.
Hamilton narrowly leads the drivers standings with 62 points, five ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and eight in front of Massa.
Raikkonen was fourth in qualifying.
