Anything Goes

Malta Independent Monday, 1 September 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

For Giov. de Martino (TMID, 27 August), anything goes so long as it is in defence of the government that I assume he helped elect.

Only the other day he had another letter, defending an irregularity by a minister.

He has said nothing either about the tail wagging the dog (I refer to Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando and the hold he has over his Prime Minister).

Alfred Sant did not accept a similar situation and went to the country. Instead of being praised for being resolute and doing the honourable thing, Dr Sant was blamed for losing the government after just 22 months in office.
