G. Mallia (The Wild West, TMID, 29 August) is right as far as excessive noise goes. It has been like that for a long time.

Like he said, an owner of an establishment found guilty of excessive noise was fined Lm25 and the noise goes on as usual.

Malta has no noise abatement of any sorts or if there is it’s being ignored by the authorities as usual. The government and the local councils have to observe these laws and enforce them.

Malta has always been business as usual and many times the police department have their hands tied behind their backs due to politics.

Somebody has to have enough guts and stamina to stop this lawlessness and pay attention to the people. I hope somebody listens and does something about it and stops the loud noises coming from establishments.
