Exiles SC Under-14s Make history for the club

Malta Independent Sunday, 7 September 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Throughout the recent years Exiles Sports Clubs has given prominence to its waterpolo and swimming schools, which are both very popular among a large number of boys and girls.

The Sliema club also took pride in a number of excellent results achieved by its young swimmers in the National Swimming Championships.

However, during this season, the Exiles Under-14 waterpolo team set a new landmark for the club by winning the age-group competition organised by the ASA.

This achievement was the fruit of the Exiles Under-14 waterpolo training scheme, initiated a few years ago under the guidance of ex-national team player Kurt Dowling, aided by assistant coach Stephen Paris. The dedication of these two coaches helped the boys develop a passion for the game, as well as a sense of discipline and a tactical acumen which are indeed essential in waterpolo. In fact, team-spirit and collective play were a trademark of this team.

Exiles SC aims to continue to achieve its aims by continuing to foster swimming and waterpolo in the youth sectors. Furthermore, since the Exiles first team also won the ASA National Division 2 League, this season has surely been one of the most successful ever for the club.
