The original version sent by Dr Jos. M. Vella (which appeared as a letter in last week’s issue was: “It is a fact that since it opened it has become a mecca around its outside area for drug pushing as it is constantly being reported in the press. This is giving a bad name to our community.”

But at subbing stage this was changed to “It is a fact that since it opened its outside area it has become a Mecca for drug pushing, as it is constantly being reported in the press. This is giving a bad name to our community”

It is obvious the sentence as appeared in print was never the intention of Dr Vella.
