I refer to Pam Crawford’s letter “Hang on to your shipyards” (TMIS, 21 September). Where have you been all these years, Ms Crawford? Do you really mean that the shipyards are our only assets?

Haven’t they been given enough chances with so many millions pumped into them?

There seems to be no hope of turning the Drydocks into a viable enterprise, period. There is a limit to everything and certainly your mentioning of the fighting spirit hardly comes into the scenario.
