Autumn has just started, bringing to an end the main Maltese festa season. One can affirm that this year’s, considering all, was a positive festa season. One must give credit where credit is due. Thanks are due to the hundreds of people involved in preparations for the success of such feasts.

Special credit goes to those who came out with fresh innovations. The San Girgor feast at Sliema is a case in point.

The procession at San Girgor is famous for its originality. This year’s procession has had a further dose of originality added. While half of the procession took a direction, the other half took a different direction altogether.

It is such an original idea which emphasises the direction adopted by the same parish over the last few years.
