Storms Cause service disruptions

Malta Independent Friday, 10 October 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The recent storms over the Maltese Islands have led to temporary service disruptions in certain areas.

When such situations arise, Melita immediately deploys several technical teams to repair damages and restore services as fast as possible. The recent storms caused severe damages and the extent of technical repairs required more in-depth and prolonged attention.

While Henry Calleja (TMID, 27 September) might have interpreted the downtime period as sheer inefficiency, Melita continuously endeavours to avoid service disruptions, to plan and inform about scheduled downtime whenever possible, and to restore services as fast as possible when unforeseen disruptions occur for reasons beyond our control.

I have been in touch with Mr Calleja to ensure that his Melita service has returned to normal. The matter has been settled to his satisfaction.

Similarly, customers calling our call centre during and immediately after the recent storms, might have experienced unusual waiting times to get through any of our customer assistance officers. The unforeseen service disruptions generated a higher number of enquiries.

While regretting the inconvenience caused, Melita remains committed to offer the highest levels of customer experience and satisfaction, both through our unique products and customer service.
