When is the government going to seriously look into the dangerous piece of the two-lane road from top of the Telgha tal-Ahrax near the Madonna statue at the top of the hill, leading to the Marfa crossroad that progresses to the bypass connecting Marfa to the Cirkewwa Ferry?

This is one of the most travelled roads in Malta due to the Gozo Ferry Terminal. Fair to say that from Cirkewwa to Marfa it’s a four-lane road. But then it turns into a dangerous two-lane road from the Marfa crossroad till you get to the Armier crossroad before starting downhill

to Ghadira.

From there once again it becomes a four-lane road all the way up to the end of the Mellieha bypass. Right now there are no structures that would prevent the widening of this piece of road and it should be a priority to improve the infrastructure of better roads in Malta. This will benefit the thousands of Maltese and Gozitan drivers commuting between Malta and Gozo, not to mention a safer route for buses, trucks etc.

I do believe that where possible there should be four-lane roads connecting the north and south of the Island to relieve the traffic congestion. Widening this piece of road to a four-lane road will make the road safer and help ease the traffic between the Armier crossroad and Marfa crossroad.

This will also provide a four-lane road from the start of the Mellieha bypass all the way to the Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal. This is a main thoroughfare and maybe the Maltese government and the EU can help turn this piece of road to meet European safety standards.
