World Cup of Pool winning duo Rodney Morris and Shane van Boening will be in the five-man American side in the 2008 PartyCasino.com Mosconi Cup.

Morris and van Boening triumphed in Rotterdam, Holland last week in the World Cup to secure their spots in another prestigious team pool competition.

The Mosconi Cup, the pool's answer to the Ryder Cup, features five players from the USA up against five from Europe over four dramatic days of top-class action and excitement.

American number one Johnny Archer has also been selected with the last two USA players to be announced after the US Open at the end of this month.

Tony Drago, who won the Most Valuable Player award at the 2007 Mosconi Cup, is among three Europeans to have been picked so far.

Former World Pool Champion Ralf Souquet and England's Mark Gray, first in the European rankings, will also be in the Europe side with the two last spots to be decided in the near future.

Malta will be hosting the 15th edition of the Mosconi Cup, to be stages at the Hilton Conference Centre in Portomaso, between 11 and 14 December.

Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn is excited about the Malta appointment.

"The six players named so far represent the cream of US and European pool and there will be more to come at the end of the month," declared Hearn.

Presently America dominates with ten wins compared to three successes from Europe with the 2006 competition ending in a tie.
