Long term leaders of the Middlesea Valletta Life National League, Fina, saw their advantage cut to ten pins due to a surprise defeat at the hands of Royal Shock in week fourteen, which followed a convincing 100% victory over NINE in week thirteen.
Chasers Tabsat capitalised with a brace wins to gain ground on the defending champions. The two teams have now drifted well ahead of the pack and now look to have the top spots sewn up between them.
Week 13
Globalair thrashed by Tabsat
Fina made short work of beating strugglers NINE with a 0-8 score line in week thirteen, the losing side offering up little resistance as the games progressed 685-761, 712-784 and 645-853.
But closest rivals Tabsat went one better by taking the highest team series of the week from their 8-0 trouncing of Globalair Travel. Their 2451 tally came from a great winning series of 840-754, 835-687 and 776-702.
There was also a full point win for Royal Shock to the detriment of bottom side Active, whose absolute nightmare of a Division I debut continues with this hammering. Game scores; 656-755, 619-733, 601-733.
Centro Casalinga started well with a 749-780 win against Café Ole, but the latter side then came back to take the match 6-2 thanks to wins of 740-721 and 754-730 to clinch the series by just 12 pins (2243-2231).
The last match of the night ended in a 4-4 draw between Turu’s Knights and Ramis. Turu’s opened with a 739-726 win before Ramis squared it with a 662-732 equaliser. The Knights won the third 698-647 but lost out on the series points by just six pins (2099-2105).

Week 14
Leaders Fina ‘Shocked’
The defending champions were literally shocked by their aptly named opponents Royal Shock in week 14, suffering a 2-6 beating from the latter. Game results (Fina-Royal Shock); 753-798, 818-840, 880-839.
This allowed Tabsat to creep a little closer with their 6-2 victory over Centro Casalinga which included a massive final game; 866-707, 804-816, 913-694.
Only third placed Globalair Travel scooped all eight, unlucky NINE once again being on the wrong end of the whitewash which progressed; 629-707, 697-799, 633-745, while fourth side Ramis managed a majority (2-6) win over Active.
Ramis took the first two of the set 629-707 and 697-799, but then dropped to a low 623 in game three, handing two points to Active for their 671 effort.
Turu’s Knights had to settle for an equal share of the points again this week, drawing 4-all with Café Ole. They went 4-0 down as their opponents took the first two 768-730 and 816-778, but a final win of 717-803 gave them the series points by ten pins (2301-2311)
