MQRIC Integrated into the Malta Qualifications Council

Malta Independent Monday, 27 October 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) is now part of the Malta Qualifications Council (MQC), and has recently moved to the council’s premises in Sta Lucija. Established as the official national body to deal with the recognition and comparability of both academic and vocational qualifications, MQRIC coordinates the different agencies and authorities which are entitled to evaluate and award credentials and licences.

MQRIC, set up in 2002, oversees the development of the national qualifications framework in the context of lifelong learning and works in partnership with learners, employers and training and education providers to achieve and maintain excellence as a contribution towards the national effort for competitiveness.

Individuals who would like to evaluate their qualifications, can go to MQC’s offices at 16/18, Tower Promenade, Sta Lucija. MQRIC also helps students who are interested in, or are currently reading for, a course at a foreign university. Information on whether the course/qualification is recognised by MQRIC will be given.

Further information may be obtained by sending an email to [email protected] or by telephoning the council on 2754-0051, 2180-1411.
