We must know why the government did not connect to European grid before. This can be privatised. The Marsa plant must be closed soonest.

In other countries consumers can buy electricity in the off peak at cheaper rates and then use this energy during the day.

I cannot understand that while we have parts of our island flooded with rainwater, we insist in letting this water go to waste.

Enemalta should start immediately to replace all its clients’ electricity meters. I still think that all meters should be replaced with top up card meters. The bills system is highly inefficient, it is a slow process, and payments are delayed, bank interest is lost. It is incredible how bills are timed to find people on one foot; actual bills should be sent monthly, and I would suggest that we should be able to enter the readings and pay immediately on line.

Full advantage of EU membership should be made; we are the smallest and most isolated country in the EU, and we are without any resources. We cannot wait to have massive redundancies to get EU funds.

The government should seek help from the European Union so that jobs are not lost in this crisis.

Why should the employed workers always bear the burden? There should be no capping and no subsidies. The authorities are very quick to balance their inefficiencies but they must use their brains and think before making use of their rhetoric. In any case capping or no capping many heavy consumers do not pay their bills on time.

In my view assistance and knowledge should be sought from the EU to audit and investigate the complete situation in Enemalta and Water Services Corporation.
