Howard Hodgson

From Mr K. Farrugia

That Howard Hodgson is so anti-UK’s Labour is of little concern to most Maltese readers. The manner in which he described Tony Blair as “an intellectual butterfly”, and “ a man of little substance and even less moral fibre”, and Gordon Brown as “insecure… useless… and dithers about everything”, reminds me of the many Tories I sometimes crossed swords with in the early 1960s during my research years at the London School of Economics, mainly at debate time. No wonder I still dislike them today.

As CEO of Ronson plc, Mr Hodgson should know better than to write such nonsense like “Britain’s economy is in real danger because it has become all too reliant on domestic consumer spend built on the back of a housing boom which is now over. It has relied on this rather than the creation of real wealth.”

Perhaps Mr Hodgson could tell us what exactly is “real” wealth and how it is created.
