Checking Facts

Malta Independent Thursday, 6 November 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

I write on behalf of Dr Noel Arrigo and refer to the article penned by Daphne Caruana Galizia entitled Oh, to work with gorillas in the wild (TMID 23 October).

Your columnist has, yet again and for the umpteenth time, got the facts wrong. Among other sweeping statements she asserted that she was told that my client has been working as a lawyer and arguing cases in court. This is completely false.

On the day in question the only reason for my client being in court was to give evidence in a case pending before the rent regulation board presided by Mag. Giovanni Grixti and he did not plead in this case either.

It would in the future be appreciated if your columnist had the decency of at least being correct in what she states. Indeed this is not the first time that she took as a fact something that was totally unfounded
