The second day of the Malta Darts International Open was played on Wednesday at the Topaz Hotel in St Paul’s Bay.

The singles for the men's and ladies' events were played in front of a good crowd of supporters. A total of143 players took part.

The men's event was played on three sets of three legs each while the ladies played best out of five legs.

John Michael (Greece) vs Andy Rutter (England), Alan Bone (England) vs Vince Busuttil (Malta), Jermaine Wattimena (Holland) vs Gordon Stanmore (Malta) u Roy Brown vs Christopher Aubrey (both from England)were the pairings in the quarter- finals in the men's event.

In the Ladies' event, Allyson Thomson vs Margaret Sutton (both from England), Trixi Kroeckel (Germany) vs Karen Hutton (England), Angie Hinch vs Jane Stubbs (both from England) and Joyce Fenech Borg (Malta) vs Wendy Reinstadtler (England) made it to the quarter- finals.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of all four events were held yesterday evening, followed by the presentation of winners.
